About Us
QUICK TAKE
Preserve our planet.
We design about the past while trying to help preserve the future. We use 100 % organic cotton only—no pesticides, less water, healthier soil.
Every shipment is CO₂-offset.
One thoughtfully made tee can shift the story we tell about sustainability—one closet at a time.
OUR STORY
Rooted in the Past
We come from the generations that drank from the hose, got up to change the channel, and made mixtapes. Our designs reflect those eras—not just inspired by them, but shaped to feel of them. We study period advertising, illustration, pop culture, movies, music, politics, typography, and other aspects of life in the last century and beyond to replicate the visual quirks, methods and/or messages of long-gone times as closely as we can. And we will dip out toes into the retro pool every once in a while, as well. We hope you appreciate the nuances between authentic vintage/antique and retro as much as we do! :)
Our tees are rooted in the past, with designs that celebrate a wide range of cultural memory—from politics to pop culture, from shared moments to overlooked icons. We want every piece to be a conversation between generations. And while not each and every one of our designs' aesthetic or message is immediately obvious, you can bet they are all intentional!
Effortless. Essential. Elevated.
Our journey toward sustainability began with something personal: a family health scare that made us rethink every product we brought home—including the clothes we wore. That curiosity led to research, and that research led us to something we hadn’t really questioned before: conventional cotton, it turns out, is one of the most chemically treated crops in the world. The pesticides and fertilizers used in its production don’t just stay on the farm—they linger in the fabric, enter our bodies, seep into waterways, and disrupt entire ecosystems far beyond the field.
Why Organic Cotton?
Organic cotton farmers rotate crops to keep soil alive and naturally moist, using up to 91% less water in the process. No toxic sprays means organic cotton is easier on the air, the land, the skin and the wearer's overall health, and a much safer environment for field workers and those through the supply chain to work in.
It’s not perfect. But it’s better. And for us, that’s a place to begin.
Crafted by Designers, Not Just Sellers
We grew up behind sewing machines, pattern tables, and sketchpads. That’s where we learned how good materials behave, how a garment should feel, and how long it should last. Not only are we being intentional about the fabric we use to create our t-shirts, we also use water-based DTG ink that produces less waste and use less energy, in turn creating a softer-feel print made to last; and we have chosen a fulfillment partner that uses recycled post-consumer materials to pack and ship all our products. That's a win/win in our book.
Doing Business the Harder Way—On Purpose
We won’t lie: it would be easier to use conventional cotton. It’s everywhere, it’s cheap, and it allows for better margins. But that kind of shortcut doesn’t line up with what we care about—or how we want to show up in the world.
That’s why we only work with organic cotton and offset the carbon emissions from every order. No preaching. No guilt trips. Just a better option in a world full of fast ones.
Shifting the Narrative—One Tee at a Time
We’re not here to save the world single-handedly. We just think everyday choices—like which t-shirt to wear, and the messages we put on them—can quietly push things in a better direction. We believe that comfort, style, and responsibility can share the same hanger. We hope you choose to come along.
Why organic cotton? Why not.
This is our start. We're glad you're here for it.
